MORE ABOUT THE FARM:

For the past 35 years, Austkil has been operated as a country guest house, focusing on accommodation for salmon anglers during the summer and hosting courses and conferences the rest of the year. Here, the charm of a historic farmyard is combined with modern meeting facilities.

As a private residence, the farm features a large traditional Norwegian farm house, originally dating from the late 18th century. The commercial buildings are located in the same farmyard and consist of the old “masstua” from roughly the same period, a storehouse from 1904, a large original cowshed from 1965 that was later expanded and modernized into a farm hotel, as well as an annex comprising rental rooms.

The farm includes approximately 10 hectares of cultivated land and 260 hectares of forrest and wilderness land. Together with good neighboring properties, Austkil currently has access to several prime fishing stretches in the Stjørdal River, as well as around 700 hectares of hunting grounds.

At present, Austkil has 15 rental rooms with a total of 27 beds. Following the Covid pandemic, operations have been somewhat scaled back. Financial statements for the last full year of operation show total operating income of just about 200k euros.
